Hold to Death: Hand in Hand 死亡之握：鬼牽手

Synopsis

The most common gesture in our daily lives becomes the deadliest trap — once you hold hands, death follows. Directed by rising Taiwanese filmmaker Alex Wang and starring Vera Yen, Charles Tu, MeiMu, Chu Meng Hsuan, OuYang Lun, Dr. Beauty, and Phoebe Lin, the film centers around a forbidden ritual game known as “Hand in Hand.”   According to urban legend, if a group of friends join hands together, they can summon an unknown spirit. At a local high school, four students attempt the ritual in a darkened classroom, only to be interrupted by their teacher, En Yu (Vera Yen).   Frustrated, the students abandon the ritual notebook and leave. After picking up the notebook, En Yu later reunites with her longtime crush, Yue Rong (Charles Tu), expecting a simple one-on-one date, but then unexpectedly attending an engagement party of their former college classmates. As old friends reconnect, the group jokingly decides to try the “Hand in Hand” ritual for themselves.   However, what begins as harmless entertainment soon unleashes a chain of supernatural horrors, as the group discovers that the only way to avoid death is to pass the curse on through physical handholding. Yet with every touch, the curse grows more violent, unpredictable, and impossible to control.   As fear spreads, friendships fracture, and the rules behind the ritual slowly unveil, they soon realize that once the hands are joined, there is no escaping the game….
